▏Cingjing Skywalk

"Green grass underfoot, a thousand-meter valley ahead, mountains stretching like a ribbon, and clear blue sky overhead." This is the portrait of the Cingjing Skywalk. Experiencing it firsthand, walking 2,000 steps along the observation trail at an elevation of 1,700 meters, offers a unique kind of charm.

The dozens of hectares of lush grassland at Cingjing Farm's Green Green Grassland feed hundreds of sheep and cattle. The snowmelt from Hehuan Mountain and Qilai Mountain flows deep through the valleys, nourishing the clear streams that feed the waves of Sun Moon Lake. The highest peaks of the Central Mountain Range's Northern Three Section — Qilai North Peak, Qilai Main Peak, Nanhua Mountain, Nenggao Mountain, Andongjun Mountain, and the Hehuan mountain range — form a wall like a ribbon, delaying the arrival of the morning light and trapping the early morning mist, which also creates the cloud waterfalls that roll over from Hualien and gather into a sea of clouds in the Zhuoshui River valley. These landscapes enrich the character of the Cingjing Skywalk and cultivate its irreplaceable charm.

 

The Cingjing Skywalk sits at an elevation of approximately 1,700–2,000 meters, spans 1.6 kilometers in length and 2.5 meters in width, and connects the old trail starting from the Cingjing National Hotel to the Green Green Grassland Story House. Designed with a hidden elevated structure to be friendly to the natural environment and scenery, the trail leaves the roadway, crosses the grassland, and winds through the treetops, allowing visitors to hike safely while watching sheep graze on the grass and wild birds hop among the treetops. Multiple viewing platforms are set up along the way, offering visitors a place to pause and enjoy the cool breeze, take in distant views of the Central Mountain Range and the Zhuoshui River valley, and see a sky far bluer and clearer than at lower elevations.

 

▏Nantou Cingjing｜Little Swiss Garden Admission Ticket

Little Swiss Garden in Cingjing is one of the must-visit attractions when coming to Cingjing. With its fairy-tale-like scenery across the entire garden, resembling a wonderland, and its fairy-tale-themed landscape, the garden is filled with European charm, earning it the nickname "Taiwan's Little Switzerland." Covering an area of about 6 hectares, it features a scheduled water fountain show daily, letting you enjoy the dreamy garden scenery by day and experience the colorful, dynamic sound-and-light water show by night.

The park features the famous Water Chapel, the Bald Cypress Trail, and the Green Light Forest Garden, among other popular photo spots for visitors.   • The park has steep slopes; please do not allow children to run unsupervised.
  • Please follow the walking paths for safety.
  • Adhere to the usage restrictions when using recreational facilities.
  • The use of drones, starting fires, cooking, grass sliding, and bringing pets into the park are prohibited.
  • In case of an accident, please immediately contact the staff for assistance.
  • Please read all visitor notices carefully.

▏Qingjing Skywalk

※Visitor Notice

  1. Opening Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily.
  2. Last Ticket Sale: 4:30 PM daily.

★ After 4:00 PM, only the section from the Story House to the South Business District is open for round trips. The section from the Butterfly Garden to the South Business District is open for one-way traffic only (no return trips allowed).

★ Closing Time: 5:00 PM daily (clearance starts at 4:40 PM).

3. Skywalk Entry Flow:

   (1) Enter from the Butterfly Garden ticket checkpoint (Qingjing Tourist Service Center - next to the French Town, via the 55-step walkway).

   (2) Enter from the South Business District ticket checkpoint (opposite the South Business District vendor area at Green Green Grassland).

   (3) Both entry points allow for entry and exit. After exiting, re-entry is allowed, but you must have your hand stamped for verification. Please queue for entry according to instructions from on-site staff.

※ Other Important Notices

◎ The Skywalk is located at an elevation of 1700 to 2000 meters, beside Qingjing Farm. It is 6 kilometers in total length and features elevated structures due to the terrain. Please assess your physical and mental condition before entering. Those with a fear of heights, high blood pressure, heart conditions, alcohol intoxication, asthma, pregnancy, or other health conditions that may prevent safe passage should refrain from entering for their own safety.

◎ Some sections of the Skywalk are affected by the terrain and are only environment-friendly walkways, not accessible pathways. Wheelchair users must be accompanied by others to avoid potential danger.

◎ Tickets are only valid for the day of purchase. Late tickets will be void. Lost or damaged tickets will not be reissued.

◎ Tour guides and group leaders are not entitled to free entry. Please purchase tickets according to regulations (discounted tickets are available).

◎ Visitors should keep their ticket stubs as proof of purchase. Ticket revenue is collected by the Nantou County Government and is exempt from business tax and official receipt issuance. If you require a paper purchase receipt, please inform the on-site staff at the time of purchase or redemption. Re-issuance is not possible after leaving the counter.

◎ For visitors who plan to enter and exit multiple times on the same day, please ensure a hand stamp is applied at the ticket counter. When re-entering, present your valid ticket and hand stamp to the ticket checker.

◎ The site has insurance for public liability as required by regulations.

◎ In the event of a typhoon, heavy rain, strong winds, lightning, or other unsuitable weather conditions, access to the Skywalk may be suspended.

※ Prohibited Actions on the Skywalk

◎ Climbing onto the Skywalk during non-operating hours is strictly prohibited. Those who enter without authorization will be held responsible for the consequences, and the Nantou County Government reserves the right to pursue legal action.

◎ To prevent the spread of rabies and other diseases, pets are not allowed on the Skywalk, except for guide dogs.

◎ Please practice good public manners and respect for nature. Do not litter or feed animals to prevent livestock from ingesting harmful substances.

◎ To maintain walking quality and ensure safety, please comply with the load limit and avoid pushing or shoving.

◎ For your safety, do not jump off or climb the railings, run, play, or deliberately shake the railings. Be cautious and keep an eye on children in your group.

◎ When entering the Skywalk, please follow personnel limits and avoid crowding on any single platform to prevent concentrated stress and potential danger.

◎ To maintain public safety, activities such as rollerblading, unauthorized camping or picnicking, and setting off fireworks are strictly prohibited without official approval.

◎ Smoking is prohibited within the park.

◎ The use of drones is prohibited within the park.

◎ The Nantou County Government will not be responsible for any injury or property damage resulting from failure to comply with the above prohibited actions. If public property is damaged, the Nantou County Government reserves the right to seek compensation.

  • Opening Hours: Daily from 09:00 to 21:00
  • Please note: If you need to re-enter the park, make sure to have your hand stamped by the staff at the entrance/exit for re-entry.

｜Item Redemption

  • Once any item or gift in the pass has been redeemed, returns and refunds will not be accepted.
  • Please pay attention to the business hours of the redemption store. If redemption is not available during that time, please redeem during other normal business hours within the validity period.
  • The pass has a 14-day validity period, meaning all items must be used within 14 days of the first item being used (including the day of first use). Example: If the first item is activated on January 1, 2026, the final deadline for use is January 14, 2026.
  • This pass is limited to one person per ticket, and each digital pass can only be used once. Once verified for entry, it cannot be used again.
